Fundraising- A dreaded word, but the life blood of our group.

At Wulguru Scout Group we aim to supply the most cost effective experience for your youth member. We achieve this by only charging what the Scout Group is charged by our governing bodies, so the Wulguru Scout Group does not gain financially by monies paid by our families. This includes our weekly subscriptions, this small fee goes to supplying items required for weekly meets, badges/books. arts and crafts.

Unfortunately we do not recieve any government funding of any sort.

In order to keep the group financially viable we rely on volunteers to

organise/man and run fundraising activities. Although our dedicated leaders

help at all these events, it is not in their role description.

Section leaders are there for the youth to run weekly meetings and extra

activities on weekends. This is why it is an expectation and is imperative that

all families donate some time for all fundraising activities to not only play an

active part in the group but to help prevent Leader burnout.

Fundraising helps pay for:

  • Leader Training

  • Den maintainenece

  • Electricity

  • Rates

  • Insurance

  • Equipment

As you can see this can become quite expensive, hence the need for regular fundraising activities.

To help on the fundraising committee or to pass on fundraising opportunity information please contact the Group Chairman or Group Leader. Details are on the contact page.
